Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to the Rev. Gaddiel Acquaah Mem. Methodist Preparatory School website, our parent, student, teacher and administrator portals, our mobile applications, and the messages we send you by WhatsApp, SMS and email. Please read them carefully — by using any of these services you agree to them.

Last updated: 3 August 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing our website, signing in to a portal, installing our mobile application, or continuing to receive messages from us, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the services. If you are using a portal on behalf of a student, you confirm that you are that student's parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise authorised to act for them.

2. Definitions

3. Accounts and access

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. WhatsApp, SMS and email communications

6. Fees and payments

7. Intellectual property

The School's name, crest, logo, photographs, publications, curriculum materials and website content belong to the School or its licensors. The Educare software, its design and its source code belong to Henapp Infocom Technologies. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for their intended purpose. Nothing here transfers ownership of anything.

8. Content you submit

You keep ownership of the work, messages, photographs and documents you submit. By submitting them you grant the School a licence to store, display and use them for school purposes — for example, to mark an assignment or to respond to an enquiry. You confirm that you have the right to submit them and that they infringe nobody's rights. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.

9. Academic records and accuracy

We take care that records shown in the portal are accurate, but scores, results and reports are provisional until formally released by the School, and the School's official records prevail in the event of a discrepancy. Tell the class teacher or the Academic Office at once if you believe a record is wrong.

10. Mobile applications

The mobile applications are licensed, not sold, to you for personal use on a device you own or control. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, modify or redistribute them. They are distributed through the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and are also subject to those stores' terms. We may release updates, and some updates may be required for the app to keep working.

11. Availability

We aim to keep the Services available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend access for maintenance, upgrades or security, normally with notice where the interruption is planned. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn.

12. Third-party services

The Services rely on third parties, including Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, SMS gateways, email delivery providers, payment processors and hosting providers. Their availability and conduct are outside our control, and their own terms apply to their part of the service.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law, we exclude all implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of data arising from your use of the Services, from a failure of a third-party network or provider, or from your failure to keep your account credentials or contact details secure and current. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the School against any claim, loss or cost arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your infringement of a third party's rights.

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access where these Terms are breached, where your relationship with the School ends, or where suspension is necessary to protect the Services or another user. On termination, the licences granted to you end; provisions on intellectual property, liability, indemnity and governing law survive.

16. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Please raise any dispute with the school office first — most matters are resolved quickly and informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its "last updated" date, and continued use of the Services after a change means you accept it. Where a change is material, we will notify you.

19. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the School's own published policies, form the entire agreement between you and the School regarding the Services.
