Our Curriculum

At Rev. Gaddiel Acquaah Mem. Methodist Preparatory School, learning is an adventure in understanding — not a race to memorise.

We follow an international, inquiry-based approach that puts genuine understanding at the heart of everything we do. Our learners are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas, and connect what they discover to the world around them.

Every child arrives curious. Our job is to keep that curiosity alive — and to shape it into the skills, confidence, and character that carry a young person through life.

Understanding over memorisation

Facts matter, but knowing what to do with them matters more. We teach for depth, so that our learners can explain their thinking, apply ideas in new situations, and remember what they learn because they truly understand it.

Lessons are built around big questions rather than isolated topics. When children investigate, discuss, and discover for themselves, knowledge becomes something they own — not something they borrow for an exam.

We would rather a child understand one idea deeply than repeat ten by heart.

Inquiry at the centre

Our classrooms are places of wondering and doing. Teachers guide learners to explore, experiment, and reach conclusions through evidence and reasoning.

Thinking that goes deeper

We want our young people to weigh evidence, question assumptions, and form their own views. Critical thinking is woven through every subject, from analysing a text to interpreting data to solving an unfamiliar problem.

These are the habits of mind that serve a person long after school — in the workplace, in the community, and in the choices that shape a good life.

A global perspective, rooted at home

Our learners grow up as confident local citizens and thoughtful global ones. They study ideas and cultures from around the world while staying proud of their own heritage and community.

We nurture open minds and open hearts — an appreciation for difference, an interest in other viewpoints, and a sense of responsibility that reaches beyond the classroom walls.

Balanced, meaningful assessment

Assessment at Rev. Gaddiel Acquaah Mem. Methodist Preparatory School is about growth, not just grades. We measure progress in many ways so that every learner can show what they know and can do.

Regular, honest feedback helps children — and parents — see how far they have come and where they are headed next.

Character and strong values

Academic success means little without integrity, kindness, and resilience. We hold high expectations for behaviour and effort, and we celebrate honesty, respect, and responsibility just as warmly as achievement.

We want our learners to leave us not only well-educated, but well-grounded — ready to lead with conscience and to contribute with purpose.

Partnering with parents

Great education is a partnership. We keep families close to the learning through open communication, shared goals, and a warm welcome into the life of the school.

When home and school pull in the same direction, children flourish. At Rev. Gaddiel Acquaah Mem. Methodist Preparatory School, we would be honoured to walk that journey with your family.
